We follow this practice of having our Committee meetings one day and Board meeting the next. We've been doing it now for about 5 years. It works fairly well. We just write the resolutions for the Board, as they are presented at the Committees (except "on the recommendation of the x committee"). It's very rare that we've had to change a resolution because of Committee disagreement or re-direction, but there have been times where we've either pulled the resolution or either e-mailed or walked in a revised resolution the day of the Board meeting.

Our Directors prefer the meetings back to back as it makes more efficient use of their time.

Similar to Gillian, we also have our Committees and Board meetings back to back on two days. It's best, since Directors travel in from different parts of the province.

THAT xxxx

and then the Board sees that recommendation in the material that they receive one week before the meeting. 

The Committee Chairs report to the Board on the Committee meeting and discussion from the previous day. It works well.
