    Good morning,

We would like to know what is the practice of other members with regard to the mention in the minutes of the name of the persons who moved and seconded motions? We use to avoid naming persons moving and seconding motions as the decision is made collectivelly by the Board. We would appreciate being informed of your practice in this regard anf the basis on which it was adopted.

    Thank you in advance.

I have been employed by three separate organizations over the last ten years and none of them listed the names of the mover/seconder on resolutions.  Due process requires that the Chair ensure that resolutions are duly moved and seconded by members qualified to do so, but the recording of those names is not necessary to the record, largely because of the reason already stated - the actions are the collective actions of the Board.
